To calculate the pumps required, we should know:
1, The flow
You could get it from the equipment requiring the pumps. In mine department, if you need get dry ores 20 tons per hours e.g., and the water and the solid rating is 1:4 in usual, you need add 80 tons waters to mixing them, so the total flow could be calculated as 100 tons per hour (you could take it as 100 m3/h to easy understand but pls tell the engineers if you know the specific gravity(spgr) of the slurry mixing) .
2. The head
The head is calculated by many details. To easy understand, you should tell the engineers the pipeline length, size; the quantity of the pipe fittings and valves and the height from the inlet of the pump to the max height of the site you need the liquid(media) to be pumped.
3, The media details
The max size of the solid, D50(P50), the spgr, the concentration (w/w or w/)v etc more details more better.
